Colophon

The Name

"Rasoi Haven" roughly translates to "Kitchen Haven" in English. "Rasoi" means "kitchen" or "cookery" in several Indian languages, including Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati, while "Haven" refers to a safe or peaceful place.

The Food

I grew up eating the food displayed on the menu. I am particularly fond of any kind of dal/daal. These are household names for me and my family, and have provided me with warmth and nourishment as I navigate the more diagonal adventures of life.

Everything on the menu is vegetarian, even vegan in most cases.

The Technology

What this site is built with:

• Eleventy is a static site generator that transforms a directory of templates (written in HTML, Markdown, Liquid, Nunjucks, Handlebars, Mustache, EJS, Haml, Pug, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, SASS, and probably more) into HTML files.
• Netlify is a hosting service that provides continuous deployment, serverless functions, and a CDN for static sites.
• Plain old HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The Fonts

The fonts used on this site are Bebas Neue and Lobster.

The other font is your system's default sans-serif typeface.
